A case maker is a specialized craftsman who carves the intricate patterns on the many different types of cases for wristwatches. These include machine-cut hardwood patterns, hand-carved softwoods or hardwoods, casted metal designs casted on wood-based material or casted on bronze castings. A watch crystal , also called glass, is the transparent cover which protects the dial of a watch. Its purpose is to guard against breakage or damage to what lies behind it.
